Jerky is any type of meat, which has been cured with a salt solution and has had the moisture reduced to less than 50% of the total. It is typically brown colored and has a rough texture. Compared to unprocessed meat, it is tougher and has a more powerful flavor. This is primarily due to the flavor concentrating effect of the moisture removal process. Beef jerky is promoted as a nutritious, low calorie product, which is low in cholesterol and fat and high in protein and energy.
Cornbread or Johnny cake is a generic name for any number of quick breads (a bread leavened chemically, rather than by yeast) containing cornmeal. As maize (also known as corn) is native to North America, it is not surprising that the various kinds of cornbreads are more prevalent in the New World. However, in Italy, the corn-based mush known as polenta is sometimes fashioned into a fried form resembling cornbread.
Biscuits are extremely soft and similar to scones; in fact, many recipes are identical. In the United States, there is a growing tendency to refer to sweet variations as "scone" and to the savory as a "biscuit", though there are exceptions for both (such as the cheese scone). A sweet biscuit served with a topping of fruit and juice is called shortcake. In Canada, both sweet and savory are referred to as "biscuits", "baking powder biscuits" or "tea biscuits"; although "scone" is also starting to be used.
Biscuits are a common feature of Southern U.S. cuisine and are often made with buttermilk. They are traditionally served as a side dish with a meal, especially in the morning. As a breakfast item they are often eaten with butter and a sweet condiment such as molasses, light sugarcane syrup, sorghum syrup, honey, or fruit jam or jelly. With other meals they are usually eaten with butter or gravy instead of sweet condiments. However, biscuits and gravy (biscuits covered in "country-style" gravy) are usually served for breakfast, sometimes as the main course.
One of creole cookery's hallmarks, jambalaya is a versatile dish that combines cooked rice with a variety of ingredients including tomatoes, onion, green peppers and almost any kind of meat, poultry or shellfish. The dish varies widely from cook to cook. It's thought that the name derives from the French jambon, meaning "ham," the main ingredient in many of the first jambalayas.

Jerky is a peppered dried meat - usually Beef but I've also had Venison
Cornbread is a bread or cake that is made out of cornmeal, eggs, buttermilk. It is a Southern dish that is best if it is cooked in an iron skillet. You can also spice it up by adding Jalapeno.
Biscuits are basically just little baked breads. Here in the US, we eat them for breakfast. Like biscuits and eggs. Now again, in the South is where you get your Biscuits and Gravy. The gravy is usually a white cream gravy - preferably with Sausage crumbled in it.
Jambalaya is a Cajun rice dish that is made with chicken and sausage (such as Andouille or chorizo), and/or crawfish and shrimp. I use Andouille and shrimp myself.
The meat is browned in a cast-iron pot. The bits that stick to the bottom of the pot are what give a true Cajun jambalaya its brown color. Next, add a little vegetable oil, if there is not enough fat in the pot, and the trinity (onions, celery, and green bell pepper). Sauté until soft and then add stock, seasonings, and return the chicken or pork and sausage to the pot. Simmer, covered, for at least an hour. Bring to a boil, add rice to the pot, cover, and let simmer over very low heat for at least 1/2 hour. Resist the urge to remove the lid and stir. After a minimum of 1/2 hour, check if rice is cooked.
Hope this helps - Now I'm hungry!

Jerky: dried beef cut into strips. sometime called beef jerky. It's salty and sort of tough to chew. It's a nice snack while watching tv.
Cornbread: some may call it a soulfood. It's bread made with cornmeal, butter and fried or baked. It's good to eat with corn or any other meal.
Biscuits: bread made from flour, sometimes buttermilk also. It's good to eat with most meals, such as chicken, mash potatoes etc. Biscuits can also be used to sandwhich ham or steak.
Jambalaya: I never tried this! It's a cajun spicy type food. It's made in a pot with alot of stuff. Chicken, sausage, rice, tomatoes, celery, and spices etc. You can home make it or buy jambalaya seasoning and add it to food.

Jerky is seasoned dried meat--it keeps well, so the Native Americans taught the pilgrims how to make it.
Cornbread is bread made with cornmeal, and without yeast--it's much like a cake, but not sweet.
Biscuits are a bread also, made from flour milk, salt & baking powder, rolled out, cut into circles & baked.
Jambalaya is a southern dish, usually associated with creole cooking in Louisiana. It can contain any number of things--usually sausage & shrimp, tomatoes, rice & vegetables. Sometimes it has chicken or pork. It is usually nice & spicy.
Hope this helps!

Cornbread made from cornmeal, eggs and baking power is baked and eaten with a meal like bread.
The jerky is usually beef jerky that's dried, preserved meet strips often sold as a snack but not eaten for a meal.
Biscuits are not what you're thinking. In Britain biscuits are what's known in the U.S. as cookies. Biscuits are kind of like rolls but heavier, plied with butter, jam or apple butter. Or even sausage.
I think it's Jambalaya is a shrimp gumbo, creole style from Louisiana.

Jerky-Dried spiced/salted meat (usually beef). It is eaten as a snack and was popular with the settlers on the western frontier when fresh meat was hard to come by.
Cornbread- A cake-like bread made with cornmeal, slightly sweet but really is a savory item. It is extremely popular in the Southern US, but also has roots in the northeast (New England). It was a food made early on by the first settlers
Biscuits- Small "pastries" that are simply made from flour, salt, liquid (like eggs and/or milk) and whatever else you want (like green onions). It is mixed with lumps of butter to make a "shaggy mass". This allows the lumps of butter to stay somewhat intact and therefore create steam when baked, making them flaky. They can be eaten alone, with jam, or gravy (as well as an unlimitd amount of other items). The gravy is usually a bechamel (milk/cream thickened with a butter+flour mixture called a roux) with pieces of sausage added.
Jambalaya is a creole/cajun dish from Louisiana (southern US with French/Spanish/Native influences). It is rice with spices, meat (like sausage) or seafood or whatever else you want! not totally unlike paella

Jerky is supposed to be thinly sliced meat that is seasoned and dried; preferably in a bbq smoker or smoke house
Cornbread is best when cooked in a heavy cast iron skillet so the edges are nice and crispy. It is made either sweet (adding sugar to the mix) or spicy (adding jalapenos). Corn meal is used instead of flour.
Biscuits done right are heavy and should crumble slightly when split. I would compare it to a scone.
Jambalaya is a cajun dish cooked in a heavy pot and simmered most of the day. Layering flavors by browning the meats first, then adding vegetables and seasonings, then the liquid and returning the meats back to the pot and simmer together. A roux is not used for jambalaya.

Jerky is meat stripped of fat, spiced and put on a low heat, can be sun dried and salted. Because of this treatment it can keep for a long time and not be refrigerated. As far back as the Incas meat was preserved like this.
Biscuits are the equivalent to English scones (not fruited) and eaten as a savoury dish with gravy.
Cornbread (Yummy delicious - they served this with my bowl of chilli in California) is very similar to our Madeira cake in its consistency and taste, made with cornmeal (similar to our fine oatmeal grains).
Jambalaya is Cajun similar to risotto. It is a one-pot meal usually made at the end of the week to use what is left in the larder. Cajun people fish and hunt for their food along the bayou, so that often would include alligator and racoon. You could quite happily make it with chicken and a good spicy sausage like chorizo. Diced pork or ham or even seafood - it is up to you. Make sure you stick to the Cajun trinity though of onion, celery and green pepper.

Jerky is dried, preserved, stongly flavored meat, usually beef. It is tough as shoe leather, and hard to chew-nasty stuff
Cornbread is a cakelike savory bread made from cornmeal-similar in texture to a piece of birthday cake, without the frosting. It sometimes is made with hot peppers and corn in it, and is popular in the south.
Biscuits are similar to a british scone, but are not sweet. They are a bread round, that is made from flour, shortning and baking powder, and they rise when bakes. They are airy and light, not as dense as a scone. They are often served with a white gravy made from sausage and milk.
Jambalaya is a shrimp dish, which contains strong sausage (chorizo) lima beans, file gumbo (seasoning) corn, okra, and is a sort of stew, served over rice. I am a misplanted brit, currently living in the US. I miss my lovely English foods! Sausage in the US is much different from English sausage, and is more like mince which is formed into patties and fried. Similarly, american bacon is NOTHING like a rasher-its fried pork belly, and cooks up crisp and crunchy-disgusting
