We are using our travel agent through the city-should we tip her or send a gift/post card, etc.? If so, what would the amount be or what would we give her??

No, it is not customary. My mom's cousin was a travel agent for 30 years and she never got tips. People that used her services for all of their trips over the years would send her post cards, though. Travel agents make pretty decent money and often get free or reduced fare trips.

Travel Agents earn their money through bookings. If you are satisfied with their service the best thing you can do for them is refer a friend.

If you enjoy your trip, send a thank you and refer others to this travel agent. It is their job to book trips .. there is no gratuity involved.

I think the postcard idea is great or some small souvineir but not a tip. The company or they make their money directly from your patronage. Cool that you thought it it, however.

I would personally say "no". They make $$ off of you. That is enough.
