it is true...to an extent
a child will take certain characteristics from each of their parents, but as u grow; you become your own self. As far as looks go, one child may look more or less like 1 parent or the other, as for the aging... it's in the genes. Also how well u take care of urself. i.e. drinking, drugs (including cigs). The women in my fam hold their age 'really well'....'really well'. I'm 40 and grdma to 2 and when I'm out w/ my grandchildren ppl think he/she is my child. When I tell them grand, it BLOWS their mind, they don't believe it.

No not really. My husband was the total opposite of his parents. They were kind and gently and he was a demon from hell. As far as looks, my husband looked more like his mother than his dad. My husband acted kind, reserved and very charming. When we got married, the real "creature" reared it's ugly head. But it is different with every person and this was my experience and doesn't have to necessary be yours. I hope your spouse will be kind, loving and good to you. Good Luck!

When thinking about marriage, it is important to really be aware of what it takes for you personally to be happy in a relationship. You should have about 10-15 requirements that need to be met. Then you need to look at your partner. Do they meet your requirements? If not, the marriage probably won't work. If they do, congratulations. Also, partners should share a similar vision of what they want their life to be.

I think that a your boyfriend/girlfriend's parents relationship is a good indication of what your relationship with that person will be like. As far as looks go...I don't really think that you can look at the parents and figure out what that person will look like.

I remember when my Husband saw my Mom for the first time, I kept telling him that I promise to not look like my Mom in 20 years.

ive never heard of this rule...but seriously..if youre thinking about tying the knot you shouldnt NEED to be comparing your special someone to anybody...nor having doubts about what they are going to look like in twenty years...
