I am in the army and i renlisted to reclass to MP i am about 1 week out leaving for MP school. I got in a arguement with my wife about 3 weeks ago and mps got called and i got charged with simple assualt.. But i have no court date and nothing else was said to me about it since. Its like it never happened.. I am still set to go to school and i am currently going through clearing and leaving for school. Is that going to affect me. Should i mention it to anyone or should i just keep quite?

Was it a felony charge? If so I don't think you will be able to be a MP.

The only issue is if you got charged with the Lautenburg ammendment. This says that if a member of the military beats his spouse that he cannot carry a weapon. It doesn't sound like that happened to you. I would go through your NCO support channel and have someone take you to the M.P. station and figure this out.

Did you marry a servicemember? You know those barracks romances are BAD NEWS.

Best person to ask would be a career counselor, they know all the criteria. After that I'd ask a recruiter.

This will follow you. You should talk to your platoon Sergeant. He is there to help you. Remember talk to your chain of command.
