My friend, Max B, First of all the public school system is not "the state." All public school systems are locally run and operated. And just where do you think the feds and states get their money? From citizens who are, at last check, over 90% Christian.

Yes, Christians need to grow a backbone and start standing up for "our" rights as well. Who's going to tell us that we can't have prayer in school? The satanist have their ritals, the cults have theirs.
Christians remember ... if you are ashamed before man who your Savior is, He will not recognize you before the Father.
Its not in the Constitution deary... you better read up. We had prayer in school until the late 1960s when one woman screamed about prayer in school. Since she screamed look how far down America has gone. Would hate to have been her, btw she is dead today.... they found her body along with a few others on some farm land in Texas a few years back.
Still, would not want to be in her shoes the day she meets her Maker.

Prayer is allowed in schools in the USA.
But, if you are saying mandated or instructor/administrative lead prayers - then NO.
It should not be an issue if you are talking about mandated or lead prayers. And, what happens when the day comes in this country that Christians are not over 50% of the population?
Further, if you believe in majority rule, what about Christian students who attend schools where the majority of students are not Christian.
Further, there is a schism in Christendom. Should the prayers include the Hail Mary? The Nicene Creed? The Our Father?
This would just open up PANDORA's BOX

It is not truthfully separation of church and state in America however the Establishment clause and this implies a state faith can't be founded and pronouncing prayers in a public tuition might endorse that there's a state faith. I went to tuition while prayers had been nonetheless being stated and I resented it, even amongst Christians there are variations in sects so there are Christian Ministers and probably clergymen however of that I am now not distinct however I have heard ministers who objected to it. What that instructor and educate are doing isn't Constitutional.

Go right ahead. There are enough christian libertarians who would vote against you that the vote would fail.
Prayer is NOT allowed in schools, but at the moment it is TOLERATED. Take your votes, fly your banners, do your marches. The more it comes to light, the less tolerance there will be and the sooner it will have to be disallowed. You don't seem to be able to just shut up and pray quietly - as usual the christians are their own worst enemies.

No, because some people are not Christian and do not believe in Christian beliefs. Take me, for instance, I am Jewish. I mean I don't care if ya'all get together every now and then without other people who are not Christian, if that's what you are asking. :)

prayer is allowed in school. I can pray all I want in school..however, a teacher can not lead the class in prayer. Have you ever had a fellow student die? following the death their is usually a "moment of silence" to allow those who wish to pray to do so

Sweetheart....where you come from your religion may be in the majority at your school. The school I teach at seems to have such a variety of religious beliefs (and lack thereof) that it would not make any sense for the "majority" (if they even are such) to disregard everyone elses' rights. Guess what? Christians aren't the only ones paying taxes.

Yes. Freedom of religion is important. We should allow prayer, but it should not be mandatory.

No, because public education is funded by state and federal funds, and the constitution is specific about the separation of church and state.
