My friend, prairec, didn't think that calling for a vote ever meant I knew the outcome. eh?

My friend, vinslave, how about natural law? But that doesn't count does it?

My friend Sara, that has to be the dumbest answer ever. Gay marriage has been all over the news for the last 2 years. And Christians rarely bring the subject up.

Its already been on the ballot in my state and lost hands down. Democracy in action. I guess gay people from my state will have to go to Canada.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'Christian majority', considering that American Christianity has a thousand different factions all accross the political spectrum, however I nonetheless detest your ideals.

The tyranny of the majority has no place in this country. Ideas shouldn't be supported or denied based solely on who gets the most votes right now. People are still making choices about gay marraige, and until everyone knows all the facts, the passions of the majority will stomp all hope to the ground.

Steve, I do not know if you and I are in the same Christian category...probably not or you would not have asked...but as Christians, we should love gays and honor the law if they are allowed to marry. God will decide the outcome, and for that, I am very grateful. So NO...I will not bring it to a vote and if it is, I will cast my vote in favor of legal marriage for gays.

Do whatever you want. Completely forget that some people move to this country to escape religious persecution. Whatever.
Just think about something. I am not Gay, I spend 0 hours of my day thinking about how homosexuals have sex or what they are doing to demonstrate love toward each other.
The only time I think about homosexuals is when a christian person brings them up. Why is it that you focus any of your attention on something that has nothing to do with you, unless...

No. The founding fathers did use Christian guidance to formulate our nation but they very prudently instilled a separation of Church and State. "Morality" or issues conflicting with personal spirituality should not be mandated in this manner. Majority may rule, so to speak, but we as a nation allow for great diversity beyond that majority.

You have nothing to back up your reasoning, if you're against it, except an ancient text of laws written to govern people in a bygone era. If you try to use those, you'd better make sure you bring back the WHOLE kit and caboodle... no picking and choosing cafeteria style, which means there will be HUGE changes.

What IS the issue about Gay marraige anyway? Why do you care about what two other people do behind closed doors?!! You know the Bible doesn't actually say anything bad about homosexuality, ITS PERCEIVED! WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS IS YOUR OPPINION. ITS ALL ABOUT HOW READ IT. Fool

No, because not everyone is Christian. Btw, why are you "seeking for salvation" if the Bible has clearly said that if you believe, you have the assurance of salvation?
Acts 16:31, John 3:16, Romans 10:10

And I don't understand. The Bible clearly says that He dissapproves of gay people. Romans 1:26-27

*Edit*

The people who are giving me thumb-down should not be Christians. Unless they don't believe the Bible.

And I'm just saying...It's my answer. Just because it's not the way YOU like it doesn't mean I should get a thumbs-down. *sigh*

Er, we did, up here in Canada, where Christians are also in the majority.

Gay marriage won.

So if you think the outcome is automatically assured in your favor? It isn't.

I think people know that they are doing wrong but refuse to accept it. and when someone calls out their wrong we are considered narrow-minded.
if gay marriage is allowed, after while people will swear they are in love with their horses, dogs, cats, pigs and they would like to be joined in holy or in that case unholy montrimony!
