There's really no good way to tell, and no reliable way to estimate because wedding guest lists are SO different.

We went through our guest list and counted out the definitely not comings - invitations we sent to elderly or infirm relatives as a polite gesture and invitations we sent and got an immediate "no" on (mostly other obligations)

Then we looked at who we KNEW would be there - immediate family, locals, etc.

Then there was the middle group - the ones we weren't sure about. We estimated our best guesses on them and tried to figure out who would be there and who wouldn't. We got pretty close, but we did have a few surprises in both comings and not comings.

All in all, it comes down to guesswork.

Good luck!

Until you get all the responses back, expect 266 people to show up. It does happen sometimes where all the guests come. And some of the guests bring uninvited guests. And some of the guests say they'll come but don't. And some of the guests say they won't come but do anyway.

Really, you can't know 100& for sure how many will come until that day. But you can get a pretty good idea based on how many RSVP. But never plan a wedding with the hope that 10% or 20% don't show up...because you might get screwed doing that.

I would approximate 240-250, we started off with a max of 200 and ended up having almost 290... He's Italian!

Everyone will show up most likely especially if this is a first wedding. And if anything the ones invited will try to squeeze a few more people in, so be prepared to have more or be right on the money...

We had a destination wedding and 25% confirmed. It REALLY depends on how many are in town, how many would have to travel, how convenient the time/place is, how 'elegant' the function will be, how well your invitees know you, etc.

Count on 15-20% not attending.

my advise is to plan as if everyone would show up. i know that sounds extreme, but i only had 5 no's. we ended up with about 170 people. i thought max 120. boy was i wrong!!! so dont believe oh 20% wont show.

RSPV...... even then you will have people who may show or not show that were on your list. Anyhow I've heard that 20% is the standard.

I would figure 25% won't attend - so say 200 people.

Count on three quarters.

I've read that about 30% of those you invite won't be able to make it.
