try rootsweb.com and familysearch.org. Also cyndislist.com She has a lot of good information. You can go to your local library and use ancestry and heritage quest.

I have done a really quick search for you, I didn't find any record of his birth but I think I may have found his marriage details, if I have the right one he married Mary Smith, at church Gresley, on 06/12/1779, that would make him 22years old.
