Its not like humanists are an organized group. We are individuals with different ways of dealing with things. Personally, I am not great at expressing grief. I tend to internalize it, but thats my issue. It has nothing to do with me being an humanist.

The same as anyone else I suppose.

We all see each little of each other,
and are so busy(everyone I know is
anyway), that nobody stops to
mourn. I have a very cynical viewpoint.

Accidental death: shock, numbness

but if the person's been sick
or in failing health for a long time,
then there is sadness and wistfulness,
but also a sense of relief, and a general
feeling that the person no longer has pain.

Humanists are just like anyone else,
in that respect anyway.

the same way HUMANS do dumbass! just because we dont pray to some big guy in the sky and hope your dead homie is kicking it with 2 pac. i mean seriously we have funerals just like everyone else. only thing is, when your dead...your done...nada...thats it. the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out. so enjoy life while you have it and remember the fallen because thats all we have left of them, memories.
