I was using Internet Explorer 6 and when I tried to update to IE 7, I could not get the verification code they give you upon install. So therefore I could not download IE 7, so I tried Firefox. It worked, I can now get into secure sites but I don't like this browser. It can't handle multiple windows and when I do have like more than 3 open it gets really slow. What should I do about this?

Also, I can't get high speed where I live and I have XP.
What are the things I can do to my computer to make it work better?

Actually Dwight... I have read it and I restored the security levels to default. Why do people make assumptions when they have no idea what I've read or done to fix the problem. Making assumptions makes one look stupid. For me to avoid looking stupid I try to not assume I know what a complete stranger is thinking or doing. I have spent two entire days reading help guides to try and fix it myself. Thanks for "trying" to help though

There are numerous things you could try.
If you don't like Firefox you could either try tweaking it:

or

You could try Opera web browser: http://www.opera.com/

As for increasing the speed of your computer you could try defragmenting your hard drive.

also download SpyBot S&D: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

or try adaware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
to remove any potential adware or spyware slowing your computer down.

Also try ccleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
In order to speed up your computer.

continuously specify the size of each and every element. do not count on default behaviours or values. I.E isn't the undesirable guy. there grew to become into no W3 watch canines whilst the browsers first got here out. And so this is inevitible that incompatibility in the time of engines exist. To call for that I.E. is one hundred% nicely matched with FireFox has similarities to annoying that domicile windows would desire to be one hundred% nicely matched with MAC or Linux.

Hi. Firefox was (is) based on tabbed browsing. You do not need multiple windows. Ctrl T will open a new tab and you can just switch back and forth. Many tabs allowed. If you learn how to use it I think you'll like it.

you probably had your security in your browser set to high. this is why your browser has an internal help file. you should try reading it :) i promise you won't die if you do.
