i know it is illegal for a person operating a car to drink and drive. i need to know if it is illegal in kentucky for a passenger to have open alcohol containers and drink in the car. thanks

in Kentucky you can drink and drive while shooting out the window as long as you dont throw the empties out the window...they are really sticklers for recycling

Yes, in Kentucky, the passenger cannot have an open container of alcohol. Open Container laws prohibit possession of any open alcoholic beverage container in the passenger area of any motor vehicle, including in the unlocked glove compartment.
