I don't think it's that no one wants to date someone in a wheelchair, but while someone in a wheelchair is probably used to being around "able" people, the "abled" people aren't probably used to being around someone in a wheel chair.

That being said, sometimes people in a wheelchair get upset over innocent questions and stares instead of trying to help someone understand that it's like.

I have a friend in a wheel chair, and she strikes up conversations with people out of the blue. She makes them feel comfortable.

She was not always in a wheel chair, it was due to an accident after high school, but her attitude was still bright and inviting.

Do you use a wheelchair? Did someone offend you? I know for a fact that some physically challenged people are very independent and I wont let that get in the way of who I chose to date.

They assume that a dude in a wheelchair can't get an erection. You need to go around with a raging b*ner, so they'll know this isn't the case with you.
