I am confused about the DECT 6.0 launched in U.S. and the original DECT working at 1.9GHz. Are they the same technology or 6.0 is an enhanced version? There are documents about 6.0 at dect.org but I am not a member.
Can the handset be exchangeable between DECT 6.0 and DECT 1.9GHz? And between different vendors?

The 6.0 in DECT is simply a revision number, not a frequency. The frequency they work off of in the states is 1.9GHz. The DECT phones that are out and have been out for some time in other countries work on 1.8GHz. They are not compatible with each other. Same technology though. I've never tried to associate my handset with a base of a different manufacturer. I'll have to try it when my Panasonic set comes in. I've got them pre-ordered from Amazon =)
