Depends on your level...and where you work.
I know where I work a staff accountant makes about 50- 60K...and as you get promoted it definately goes up....but my firm is different as we are among the most reputable companies in the nation. So if you got a job at a place that is a one man show or a small firm then you won't be making as much. Anyhow, once you make Partner in a good reputable firm you can make up to 7 digits along with bonuses.
But if you're talking about accounting such as accounts payable or receivable...then it's peanuts compared to a CPA.

Oh boy do you ever. My mom used to work at a company called narad and she's in marketing. She used to make tons. But marketing is now a tough field to get into, or at least in NE. If you are successful in marketing then you really make bucks. Accounting pays good money too but not as good as marketing.
