well in laymans terms..
1.
It feels so great, it makes you want to do it again
2. Your body develops a tollerance, and so you start taking more to get that same high you had experenced the first time.
3. now your body needs it, just to keep you from getting violently ill.
4. now you are going broke, because all your money is going into paying for it, so that you wont get sick.
(sick: violent nausea, vomiting, headaches, hallucinations, severe body pain, that lasts for days even weeks,)
5. Now you are feeling desperate to get your hands on it. You may steal, or hurt someone, to get the money to pay for the drug to keep you from getting sick.
6. All you can think about is getting the drug to keep you what you think is alive. (or you will die if you dont get it)
7. You lose your job, because you cant work. You lose your family and friends, because you dont care about them anymore. Heroine is the most important in your life.
8. Your skinny, sickly looking. Your eyes are puffy and dark, and your teeth are starting to fall out, or rot.
9. You no longer have a home or a car or possesions because you couldnt afford them, or you needed to sell them to pay for your DRUG ADDICTION!
If you think the high is all that great for 1 moment. Heroine is not a 1 time deal... once you do it, you never get over it, and your life is a battle until you die, which is very probable with heroine overdose.

The body responds to heroin in the brain by reducing (and sometimes stopping) production of the endogenous opioids when heroin is present. Endorphins are regularly released in the brain and nerves and attenuate pain. Their other functions are still obscure, but are probably related to the effects produced by heroin besides analgesia (antitussin, anti-diarrheal). The reduced endorphin production in heroin users creates a dependence on the heroin, and the cessation of heroin results in extremely uncomfortable symptoms including pain (even in the absence of physical trauma). This set of symptoms is called withdrawal syndrome. It has an onset 6 to 8 hours after the last dose of heroin.
Large doses of heroin can be fatal. The drug can be used for suicide or, as in the case of Sigmund Freud, physician-assisted suicide. Heroin can also be used as a murder weapon. The serial killer Dr. Harold Shipman used it on his victims. Dealers can also supply unwanted customers with unusually pure heroin, or heroin cut with other dangerous drugs such as fentanyl, resulting in a fatal overdose. It can sometimes be difficult to determine whether a heroin death was an accident, suicide or murder.

It doesn't affect me personally - but it has destroyed my mom's best friend's life because her son got hooked on it and has never fully recovered. He was a nice and cute guy before, with a good family - now he is a theif and pretty pathetic.

Nirvan, dont go letting your "Curiosity" get the "Best" of you!! Growing up in the big city, I saw too many people on that stuff, and they just weren't "Human" anymore!! They weren't the same people I had grown-up with!!! They didn't laugh anymore, even when they were high, they had nothing but sadness and looked just terrible, all the time!! It isn't worth it to see what its like, I heard alll's it take is "One time" to get hooked on it, and from that point on, you will have "Sold your Soul" to the devil himself!!! Dont allow people you know to ruin your life honey!!! I promise you this I have known so many people that overdosed on it, that had stolen from their parent's , gave up their kids over it, you name it 'turned tricks' to support their habits, done everything "Morally wrong" known to man, for their "Ugly Habit!!!" Dont listen to your friends Please, for me!!! Dont do this at all, not even once!! Or you'll be selling your computer for it, next!! Or the people you know will do it for you!! They'll rip you off, too!! Please dont, ever ever, ever try this drug, its the worst one out there!! And you will surely lose your "Soul' over it, this I promise you!!! Be good to you, for me, PLEASE!!!!

I don't know how heroin affects you, I just know it will kill you like it killed my step father. Don't try it please!!!!
