Well I just thought I would tell you about how to make your neck stop hurting. When you come up for a crunch, don't let your head drop back and don't curl it up, keep it straight in line with your body. Also, concentrate on a spot on the ceiling your entire crunch, start to finish. My neck used to kill during crunches and this helped me a lot. Hope it helps!

If crunches hurt your neck you are doing them wrong: you are clearly straining your neck muscles instead of the stomach/abdominal muscles you are trying to target. Crunches should be performed to develop muscles and definition, NOT to burn fat. Aerobic exercise should be used to burn fat - running, swimming, rowing etc. You could do 10,000 sit ups and still look fat if you don't burn off the fat sitting on top of your muscles with aerobic exercise (or a restricted diet).

when you burn fat on your body you lose it equally . . . .meaning you cant burn all the fat on your legs and still have the same size stomach and arms, fat will come off equally throughout your body . . .but, it can appear this way because you can tone parts of your body, meaning you can do crunches and get really tight abs, but you still lose fat in other parts of your body it jsut looks more so in your abs . . .now if this makes any sense, i dont know, but its true, and you can try shoulder press which will work your upper back and shoulder, you coudl also try inverted(backwards sit-ups) which will work your back you coudl go to a gym and just as someone there whiat woudl help work your back muscles im sure someone would be able to help

If crunches are hurting your neck, you are doing them improperly. Try doing crunches with arms at your side or resting on your chest. Back exercises don't really work well on fat... Try diet and walking or running. Take care.
