I need your guys' help with a few things.

1. Should I get a 5-wood or a 3-hybrid? They have the same loft but the wood goes a little further and the hybrid has a little more control.

2. Do you think that it is a good idea for the normal r7's in the low-mid irons and the TP's short irons?

Sorry, I ran out of room.

I think having the tp's in short irons is a good idea because they are easier to hit high and I want to be able to work them better.

Oh yeah, I'm 14 years old with a 12 handicap.

They are all going to be custom fitted.

Hey Spartan,
Well, as you probably know, I think you've picked out a great set for yourself here. As far as the 5 wood vs. the Rescue 3, I think that is really just personal preference. Try them both and go with the one that you feel more confident with, and all things being even, I would always lean towards the one that's more accurate.
I also would stick with the TP's through the entire set, I don't think you will have any issues with the longer TP irons, and I think you might have some consistent issues with the change in offset in the regular r7's. But again, this a personal preference thing, so if you hit both and decide that's the best feeling set up for you than go for it.
I won't say anything about your putter choice... :)

good luck and I hope the new set treats you well!

Those are good clubs!! I am 14 too but... I have a brother and 2 cousins that are golf pros.
They said that if they fit you and stuff then you should be good to go. And they suggested the 5-wood. You get more use out of the 5-wood than the 3-hybrid.
Yea... since you are only 14 you should stick with the normal r7 in the mid-low irons and the short irons.
You are very smart to get fitted for clubs!! So many kids that want to play in life.. don't get fitted and don't know exactly how to play and they go out and buy what they think is the nicest set and then they complain cause the clubs suck (when its them that can't hit the ball correctly), and they didn't get fitted for the clubs.

Have fun and good luck!!! :)

Hey what's up bro , as long as they feel right to you how can I say its wrong , only you know what's good for you not a bunch of yahoo's on yahoo ! The best thing is that you are getting them custom fitted , if more people would get their clubs fitted they would always get better results .

Good Luck !

and keep'em in the fairway ,

I am still in New York , but I will be back in Southern California this Friday , I have not touched a club in two weeks I am going through Golf withdrawals oh well .

See Ya !

i happen to be a taylor made fan myself and have a full bag. however i was told unless you have a swing speed of 130mph or better, and a handicap of 5 or less the r-5 series may be a choise. i like the idea of replacing the 1-4 irons with hybrids but i happen to carry the 3, 5, and 7 woods. for me its better distance and control from the fairway, if your always recovering for the ruff maybe the hybrids maybe better for you.

"find your game laddie" or atleast the ball!

as for the choice, i will go with 3 hybrid over 5 wood since power is nothing without control
