How can you get people to trust you again?

If you lied to someone and you have seriously changed, how can you gain their trust back?

You have to prove you are trustworthy by proving your word is good. If you say you will do something, do it. Do it better than you said you would.

If someone asks you to do something, do it.

Being trustworthy is really an attitude. It is a state of mind. You know you are trustworthy, and the last person you have to prove it to is yourself. You know you are worthy of any trust, and you cannot allow yourself to back down from your promises.

You would rather die before your word is made void. Your word is your bond.

When this is part of your mindset, this someone could not help but trust you.

A side note: building trust takes time!

Admit to that person that you did lie and you are sorry and say it won't happen again. Its really their call, once you lose a persons trust its very hard to win it back again. You should know better.

it's very hard though.
as the saying goes "it's easier to ruin your reputation than to built it back up."

see it from their point of view. i've been lied to before and it's really hard to trust again... especially when they just keep lying and then expect you to believe them when they say they have really changed...

just don't lie to them again and keep that promise. in time, you will regain their trust. :-)

honesty...pure, simple, blunt honesty. Trust, though, is very very hard to get back once its been lost. You'll have to show and do exactly what you say you will when you will. You'll have to be so honest it makes your heart scream with pain...But, I know you can do that!
