I want to do a research in electrical engineering.
And I was thinking of system to eliminate phone chargers.
My idea is to convert sound energy into electric energy and then charge the phone using that. So you won’t have to plug your phone ever again. So your phone will be charging while you are talking!
Tell me if this makes sense guys….please!!!!

Good luck...

Remember that mechanical watches were once self-winding based upon random casual wrist movements.

The energy produced when you talk into your cell phone is already being utilized to produce the transmitted signal.

Better you put a small generator in the phone and wind it up - or a wire wound tube and and a movable permanent magnet and shake the phone to charge the battery. A wind up phone sounds feasible enough - and it would never need conventional charging.
Good luck.

No the energy in normal sound is not enough to charge a battery.

The amount of energy you can extract out of vocal sound is very very small. It will not be practical and economical to do so.
Nice try. Keep it up and you will find a great idea someday.

well.........if it worked. sound waves carry a very small amount of enery, and the human voice is not very loud, plus very little of the available sound energy actually reaches the phone. so you can get energy allright but not enough to light a single pixel on the phone's display.

No. I've heard of people talking hot air but not as hot as would be required to charge your battery. What do you think your battery is doing. It is amplifying your speech to enable it to be transmitted. It cant do this and charge itself as well.

there is already research going on and patents out there to run hearing aids this way.

as for a cell phone, i don't see it being able to generate enough power.

There is not enough energy in your sound waves.
