my friends and I are going to visit the Creation Museum (see website: http://answersingenesis.org/museum/) and we intend to challenge their viewpoints in a respectful manner.... I am worried because they have attack dogs (search the site, it's true).... I am against violence towards animals, so what I'm asking is, how can I peacefully calm a guard dog?

If you go in and act repectful of their views and do not cause a confrontation, you will be fine.

If you try to break in and stage a protest, respectful or not - expect the dogs to get you. Guard dogs are not there to make friends, they are there to do a job and those dogs take their jobs very seriously.

After these people have spent millions of dollars on their museum, do you really think that anything you say will make them change their minds?

Have you changed yours? Put yourself in their position.

If you are calm and not threatening then you should be fine. But theoretically you cannot calm a guard dog....they are trained to listen to their handlers only...no one else. As long as you are non threatening then the dogs should leave you alone.

Take lots of smelly fresh meats, throw it at them ..wear gloves and leave them behind too. If that don't work I guess you're screwed.
