Go to the VW dealership, they have the Spcial cord to handle your Ipod ! Dont buy any cheap aftermarket stuff, it will just give you problems, and will not always work properly ! Do it the right way and you will only have to do it once !

that is what you want to get. However, crutchfield only have sheet of instruction with pictures for "do it yourself". If you are not familiar with working with ur hand or cannot find some friends to do it for you, circuit city is ur best bet. But they charge like $40 for installation. ya... i agree, it is expensive. thats what you get for buying a Volkswagen, everything is more expensive for euro made vehicle. thats why i bought a Toyota.
Or perhaps, changes the entire head unit with Built-in aux jack, they sound better than the stock H/U, while having the same retail price of the product i show you above.
Circuitcity offers free installations of purchase $99+

Of course "it's possible," that's why the input is there to begin with. I don't know what all these people are going on about, you just use a standard cable with two 1/8" plugs. Basic headphone cords.

Is replacing your stereo an option? If so

Many stereos have ipod connectors now.
If your car has a cassette player there's also an attachment you can get which was originally designed for a cd player - but works just as well with an iPod - it's basically a cassette shaped thingumy with an earphone connector.

you might want to call the dealership and ask. If you want to control it through the radio, you can't just use an AUX input. You have to have an (usually expensive) adapter installed.
