OMG!!!! She can't be preggy again!!! Didn't she have her tubes tied after number 16??? I thought her GYN said that any more children would be risking her life and the baby's!
Oooooops.. Wait.. just a second... maybe death is her only way out of this. Ok sorry Mrs. Duggar.. do what you think is best.

Practicing Christians do not believe in birth control. This is why 16 kids and 1 on the way. I don't see why this is upsetting you. After all they manage to support there children rather then being on public assistance with 1 child.

I am sure this type of family does not work for everyone, but this was quite common in history. Technology advances in birth control and medical sterilization have significantly decreased the number of families caring for that many children.
My grandmother had 14 children and they lived in a small 4 bedroom 1 level house with roll away beds and not many luxuries. It can be done, I assure you. Whether or not it's "crazy" is a matter of opinion.
A loving mother never forgets her children's' names, but I am sure they yell a few of them before getting to the correct one when calling one of the kids! There were only 4 of us and my mom still called me by my sister's name sometimes! lol

Yes, I think that's a lot of kids but as for keeping track of the kids from what I've seen on the specials about them they have a pretty good system.
I went to their personal website a while back and it was kind of interesting to see how that was set up, especially the info from both about how to help moms and dads.
My grandfather on my mom's side was the 10th of 12 children. My grandma on my mom's side was the second of 9 children.

The Duggars are awesome. They provide for themselves, have good morals, seem like they have fun all the time....my 23 yo sister joked about going to stay with them for Spring Break 2 yrs ago. We are huge fans. Yes....16 kids is insane but I'd much rather see THEM get pregnant with #17 than some 14 year old piece of trash get pregnant with #1.

I think it's great. Their kids seem well cared for and that's more than you can say for some families. I think if it's what they want then who says we should judge them. As far as I know they are not leeching off the government and still producing children. They pay for everything themselves. I hardly think the fact the kids have to wear "used" clothing is going to hurt them in anyway.

I guess it is a personal choice, but they have children old enough to help w/ the younger children. They have to do this b/c there is no way one/two people get all of those kids ready alone!!

I think it is absolutely ridiculous! That is what birth control is for and that is why the world is so overpopulated! I think these people are complete MORONS. And they just use the older kids to raise the younger kids for them basically!!
