George has indeed gone back into training, he is currently in isolation at Ballydoyle - this is to make sure that he hasn't brought any bugs back with him from the stud that the rest of the racehorses might catch.
He is currently in pre-training, ie light trotting work, in order to try and get him fit again to race. He has been entered in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the end of May, but he may not be fit in time. A more realistic option is Royal Ascot and then a campaign in the big summer races.
He has not been diagnosed as totally infertile - the Racing Post has reported that he has about 6 mares in foal - so there is a chance that he may be able to go back to stud in a year or two. This has happened before: Keltos won the Lockinge Stakes back in 2002 and was sent to stud for the 2003 season. He only managed to get about 10 mares in foal so was put back into training for 2004 and 2005. It was a fairly successful return as he managed to place in a few Group races. He went back to stud in Ireland for 2006, and all seems to be working as it should be.
The main problem with George Washington now is that Aidan will have to try to get him to focus on racing and not on the ladies! He has already said that he has come back from stud "like a horse with 5 legs" and that he needs to learn that he can't cover everything in sight! Given his temperament issues in the past, this may be the breaking point for his racing return. However, he obviously doesn't have libido problems, so that will help when he returns to stud.
It will be a tough job getting him to focus on racing as well as getting him racing fit again, and people should not be too surprised if he is not the force he once was, but if anyone can do it Aidan can!
I have to say, on the Holy Roman Emperor issue, that the rumour going round at Cheltenham was that HRE was injured on the gallops at Ballydoyle, and rather than admit to the world that their superstar horse was out of action, they used the GW fertility story as a cover and shipped him off to stud. This is just a rumour though and I don't know how much truth there is in it.

He has had severe breeding problems and Holy Roman Emperor was retired to pick up his book of mares for 2007 (due to the Danehill line).
He could be placed back into training, but - as with War Emblem in Japan - everything will be done to evaluate what can be done to keep him retired and in the breeding shed.
GW is worth hundreds-of-millions of dollars at stud, so putting him back into training - if that is even an option being considered - will be because of infertility.

When George Washington came up sub-fertile, Coolmore needed another Danehill son of the same calibre to breed the mares that had been booked to "Gorgeous George." So they hustled Holy Roman Emperor off to stud, much to the shock and dismay of Aidan O' Brien and his staff.
Apparently at least a few of the mares "Gorgeous George" covered have been examined in foal: http://racing.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=38172
O' Brien says that George may be ready to return to the races by the Royal Ascot meeting. I think that may be optimistic. "Gorgeous George" had a mind of his own before they retired him; now that he's been used as a stallion, he's going to be hotter and harder to handle than he was before he was sent off to stud. I sure hope he does return to something approaching his pre-retirement form, but I sure wouldn't bet the rent money on it.

I think I read in the Racing Post that apparently he is infertile. What a waste! All those disappointed mare owners, let alone loss in stud-fees at Coolmore. There's no reason why he doesn't return to racing; perhaps they will geld him.
There was an owner on Channel4 racing the other day saying that his colt covers mares in the spring and then goes racing in the summer. What a life!

what's so great approximately George Washington? Are you kidding me? His attitude as a familiar exchange into to %. and decide his battles and carry his military quite than carry land. consequently he would desire to lose those battles and yet nonetheless stay and combat yet another day. do no longer you already know that when the progressive conflict he retired by using fact he did no longer prefer the U. S. to be a militia dictatorship? He had the prospect to step in and overthrow the Continental Congress and assume countless ability for himself very comparable to Napoleon did in France yet he walked far off from it. Now what did he do as president? at the beginning, the very actuality that he exchange into in on the Constitutional convention and assumed the presidency gave the hot shape and the hot government one among those legitimacy in the eyes of the persons. He additionally prevalent the coverage of isolationsim which might stay a basic foreign places coverage for u.s. all the way as much as the commencing up of WWII. He additionally prevalent the precendent of serving purely 2 words, a precedent purely broken as quickly as. So please do no longer sit down right here and sell us a tale approximately how he exchange into overvalued. when I first observed the question, i presumed it exchange into going to be a criticism of him being a slaveowner. it somewhat is open to argument, yet no longer the question of him being overvalued.

George Washington has fertility problems.
Coolmore retired Holy Roman Emporer to take his place as a stallion, as GW was fully booked for the year.
It only makes sense to put GW back in training...
