If you ever been knocked out unconscious before or blacked out, that's probably how it feels. Absolute nothingness not even darkness or dizziness. A complete absence of cognition there would be no feeling not even numbness. It seems logical. That's because in those states when your unconscious, you don't feel unconscious your just unconscious and only have memory of falling and waking up from it. Since the cognitive parts of your brain are not working while unconscious. Then I probably believe it would be the same thing when your dead because your brain along with all your other organs aren't functioning when your dead. So death has no feeling. It seems logical.
Follow up- Mike J I hate to burst your bubble but the sight of god might have been the result of delirium, and the light rays may have been the result of tunnel vision. If you want to believe it's god i am fine with that too

Nobody knows (and lives to tell about it). I've had an experience that you could say was near-death. I can say it feels scary being alone in such a dark place. The light comes and everything is peaceful. You never want to leave. I didn't want to, but I have so much to do in my life, I knew I had to return to my life and finish what I started, so to speak.
I don't remember events as much as the residing feelings. I can tell you what is still present in my mind, because it was so strong and will never leave me. I hope it never does.
God is real. He is our Father.
He loves us, more than we can understand.
He wants us back.
That's why He sent Jesus.
We need to follow Him, and pray to God always.
That's the truth, I promise you, as solemnly as I ever told anybody anything. That is true.

the act of dieing is unique to each person....it can be a peaceful passing in your sleep, it can be an agonizing painful transition due to some disease process, or trauma. Being dead, there are no longer functional nerves to transmit sensation, so you presumably "feel" nothing.
