Being single is the WORST ! Nobody even gives you a hug when you need it ! The single life is cruel . I'm being wasted on the single life . A single person can't have a decent Thanksgiving or a decent Christmas . I feel insulted because in forty -- five years, no woman has ever wanted me for a husband . I don't have what it takes to be single . The single life is a big fat zero ! I HATE being single . Being single is a curse .

Why being single is a good thing:

1) You get to learn how to love yourself. -- This is a win-win situation for EVERYONE.
2) You get to have fun and flirt with whomever want to flirt.
3) You're not tied down to anyone.
4) You can learn how to independent, not co-dependent and clingy
5) You don't have to worry about being pressured to have sex
6) You don't have to get stressed about fights and what have you.
7) You get to concentrate on life, not relationsthips.
8) Your friends with boyfriends get jealous at your freedom
9) YOU DON'T NEED ANYONE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY

I'm sorry that you feel it that way, because sadly, if you start feeling like this all the time, your chances of finding someone to share your life with will diminish abruptly. People are not attracted to persons who hate their life.

I am single and I have good news! Start enjoying your life, you have only got one, so that's a winner attitude! I get hugs from my teddy bear whenever I want to (I know it's childish, but it's a way of coping). Start caring more about your appearance, your interests. It's easy to get stuck in bad habits when you don't feel loved, but then you just need to try harder. Life isn't supposed to be easy, it's supposed to be a challenge.

Hang in there! There is a woman or man for everyone out there. You just need to find that special person. :)

I'm in a so-called relationship now and I'm thinking that I might be better off single, I can do bad by myself..
Being single gives you the options to explore and meet people, then when you do find the right one you won't be tied down to anyone... Just think you're free to go and do whatever you want to do! Half the people out here play games anyway, they don't know what a "real" relationship is....You also don't have to put up with other peoples s***!!!!

Maybe you should try not being so negative and if you want hugs give hugs dont wait for hugs you have to sometimes go after what you want instead of waiting for it to come to you and theres plenty of places and people that would want you on a holiday dont focus so much on having someone else while your single focus on how you can improve yourself and make yourself a better person.

... not much!!

What are you doing to meet women that would have the same interests? Are you staying in your apartment, or are you getting out there trying to bump into Ms. Right?

In the mean time get hugs from family. Spend holidays with family. If you don't really have a family, then form one with some other singles.

If single life vexes you so much, then all I can hope for is that you're trying to remedy the situation. I know being single for long periods of time sucks (trust me I know from experience). Best we can do is to give ourselves a chance and be out there. One of these days you'll find someone, if you're willing to try.

It depends on the individual, personally I'm single and wouldn't have it any other way, albeit I have a live in mate that I refer to as my Lil Sweety, and she shares my prospective regarding marriage, meaning we mutually deem marriage as a freedom forfeiting costly contract, of which literally ruins people financially, and emotionally, and is especially damaging in many ways to children, providing the marriage fails, of which statistically there's quite a large number of failed marriages these days. I should also add that sharing our self interests with others on an occasional basis is mutually totally tolerable, so to speak:)

I agree. Just for your own education try reading both of the following books:

"Body Language" by Susan Quilliam
"How To Make Anyone Fall In Love WIth You" by Leil Lowndes

i'm 18, and i've been single all my life, and i agree, it sucks. Some people who date a lot will tell you it's awesome...but they are taking their significant others for granted. All holidays are bad, even when spent with family, because you wish you could get a gift for your girl/boyfriend. I hope someday I will be fortunate enough to at least have a short relationship with a girl who actually has feelings for me.
