Generally you have a photo taken to go along with the announcement. It needs only to say your name and his name and then just you are happy to announce your engagment to one and another then if you have a date already for the wedding then you may add this as well.
Congrats and Good Luck not everyone does this I did not
and it hasn't made anything different in our marriage almost 8yrs. to the best women on the planet.
I would only say this be sure that this is something that both of you want marriage is one of the most important decisions a person can make in there life and in the end not something easily to get out of if it comes to this. Ask yourself this question can you see yourself turning old and grey with this person you call your fiance because in the eye's of god and family marriage is for life one person for eternity. Why not? Take a nice photograph of both of you to your paper with a Caption that reads something like:
"Dora Jennings and Michael Hunt are excited to announce their engagement. The happy couple will be wed on Saturday, February 31, 2008 in Hollywood, California."
Just make it sound like third person rather than first person.
