I live in the Central Valley of CA. about 80 miles west of Yosemite National Park, and there is no such thing as moderately priced accommodations in this day and age in the Sierra's (sorry for the bluntness). Last time (2003) I ventured up there was to Lee Vining, great Trout fishin' but OUCH on the motel stayin', if my memory serves me correctly for one person it was about $100.00 a night (this of course depends on where you'd be headed on your trip). Annnnd, as one can see that was a few moons ago. Campsites would be the best way ta' go and if one has an RV then that would be the ticket. The best thing that I can recommend is goin' to your search bar (computer) and enter accommodations for Eastern Sierra's. Not really much help, but hopefully someone else will respond to your question that will be able to assist ya' more - sorry. Have a good and SAFE trip...
