I'm in my early 20s and really like older guys (40-50). I get a lot of attention from them but most of them seem to be focused on my looks only. I'm wondering: are there any nice older guys who would consider a serious relationship with a younger woman or all of them are just perv...s looking for fun??? Can a guy of certain age be interested in who I am?

We wonder the same thing about younger girls: are they mature enough to know what "serious" is, or are they looking for the [experience] [wisdom] [money] [sophistication] [father substitute] [you-name-it].
As far as sexual attraction goes: well, younger girls are sexually attractive to guys young AND old. I would say that, just as a matter of biology, older guys aren't as driven by their hormones as are younger guys.
The other issue is: after all the dating, flirting, kissing, coupling, lovemaking is over, are we still going to have something to talk about? I can certainly be interested in who you are as a person (intelligent, compassionate, funloving), but "things in common" are important, too (who are your friends? what do you do for fun? what music do you like?).
EDIT: BTW, my last S.O. was ten years my senior.

I completely understand and empathsize with you. My fiance is eleven years older than I am. I've never dated any guys that wernt at least two years older then me. It all has to do with maturity level. Yes there are a lot of perv s out there who just want one thing. But dont let it get to you. It will be easy to find a guy who is older and mature enough to handle a younger and attractive woman. As a couple we always get looks and stares from the "society" who thinks and deems it wrong. But I know that we are meant to be. And its okay to date older guys....and be attracted to them. Just keep looking...you'll find him. And remember..when all his friends have old and wrinkly wives...you'll still be young and sexy! HAHA!

Hi there. I have always gone for the older guy too. But didn't meet my 'permanent' partner until I was nearly 30. We have been together for ten years now and have a 14 year age gap and an 8 year old daughter. Enjoy your early twenties as a single girl, it won't come round again.

I think you can find an older man - who truly likes you. But like you said, some older guys just wanna get with a younger girl. I really don't know what to suggest, but to follow your instincts. Make sure the guy isn't married and is being truthful.

Are you looking for a father figure? I dont think there is anything wrong with dating older men..but that much older is weird..TO ME. It is hard to tell when ANY guy is interested in you for who you are rather then your looks. I would say that when the right guy comes along you will know. If you have any doubts...move on.

I am sure there could be a man of that age who wants you but before getting involved with them or any man, you need to make sure they like you for you, because looks dont last forever, and if that is thier primary reason for wanting you, what will happen when you are not so cute?

usually if a much older guy is interesting in a younger girl is because it looks. older guys temp to live the moment because of their unsureness since they are old and less good looking they don't know how long the the good things will last because they look around and see a lot of competition or maybe they thing that they are not good enough and that you deserve better. they are just unsecured of themselves

i think you should go for guys your age and stop going for 40-50 and what if u get married to someone whose 20 years older then u when you get old he might die and you'll be by your self with no one and lonely.
and plus you could have more fun with guys your age .... (like you will have same interests ect.)

maybe you are going to old. Maybe aim for a guy who is in his 30's at least. thats not too much of an age difference, but someone that age will be able to respect you and not treat you as just arm candy and a fling .
