There will be some discharge known as lymph and its a clear or whitish fluid that dries to a yellowish color.
Your piercer SHOULD have told you about aftercare and given you an instruction sheet on the information, but if you can't call the shop or pay them a visit soon, I would do the following:
Wash the area daily with mild antibacterial soap and rinse well. If there are any crusties on the piercing, rinse the area until they fall off, do not pick or rub at them. Furthermore, do a salt soak daily to help the area clean itself inside and out.
http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Salt_soaks
Only touch the piercing when you are cleaning it and always have clean hands. Avoid pushing on the piercing and don't allow clothing to rub on the area. Keep in mind piercings heal from in the outside in so just because it LOOKS healed doesn't mean it is. This piercing takes an average of 6 months to heal but can take up to a year so be patient
Do not use rubbing alcohol, peroxide, Neosporin, Bactine and other harsh cleaners on your piercing. They tend to dry out and irritate the piercing causing slower healing time and discomfort.
Overall, if you aren't sure something is normal you should always go to your piercer first. Generally they have the best and most useful advice. Good luck

It depends on what its leaking and how much,if its just a clear fluid and theres not alot coming out it should be fine. If it is coloured, and a ton of it is leaking, you should call your piercer, the hospital or go to the emergency room. To clean your belly button you should use Saline. This is used for cleaning contact lenses and is good for cleaning your belly button because it is gently and effective, plus it is like your natural healing liquids in your body. Just put it on a q-tip and swipe gently around your piercing. You can buy this at any drugstore ranging from 5-20 dollars. Also if that seems like too much you can get something called H2ocean which is basically the same thing but in a spray and all you do is give it a quick spray over your piercing and your done. Whatever you do DO NOT use hard chemicals, you will know if is hard if it says 'for external use only'.

It isn't really supposed to leak, but there will be a little bit of pus that comes out. Where the hell did you get it done at of they did not tell you how to clean and care for it?! You clean it with antibacterial soap & water at least twice a day, 3 times wouldn't hurt. Also, go to the grocery store and buy some sea salt. Also, 2-3 times a day, wash it out with a shot glass of warm water and sea salt to clean it & help keep it from getting infected. Turn it & twist the ring/barbell around as you are cleaning it, too. Hope this helps!

Mine leaked all the time---it's just healing and any little tap or bump can cause it to leak. This won't be forever though. If it's red or itchy, it's probably infected though. I used ear piercing cleaning solution (the kind they give you at Claire's) or a sea salt and water mix (you can buy sea salt at almost any grocery store) and I would just dab a qtip in it and rub it around the piercing and the ring. Good luck!

yes that is called lymph.. white blood cells and part of the healing process.. im disappointed though that you have to come online when the piercer should have told you eveyrhting..
take a look at these links for the aftercare
so not ever use hydrogen peroxide, neospin (or any ointments) or alcohols,, they are very harmful for your piercings...
so do thats on these links and you will decrease your risk from infection.
http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Piercing_Aftercare
http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Salt_Soaks
(warm up the saline solution you have made. the warm/hot water will caue blood to circulate round the area of your piercing. it will also draw out the lymph (discarge)
peroxides, alcohols are to harm of chemicals for your navel.. it will also induce more scarring for any possible keloids you may get (hard bubbles of scar tisse that need surgery to be reomoved) neosporin will attract dirt, lint and any other object and possibly draw it into your piercing. also the neosporin blocks the exit holes for the lymph to escape, causeing a cool moist environemt for an infection... so if you want to increase your healing thime by using one or more of these roducts then be my guest.
but anti bacterial soap liek dial (small amounts only!) and sea salt soaks will be just fine!

Mine never leaked I got it February 8th or so and they told me to clean it twice a day with antibacterial soap last thing you clean in the shower and dry with a paper towel because a towel has too much bacteria. The first few weeks it stuck to the barbell a little now it is fine.

i got mine done about three years ago..it will 'leak' for a little while after you get it done
The piercing may be sore and swollen for several days, so make sure you take good care of it. Keep it clean by gently washing the area with warm water and antibacterial soap. avoid belts, pantyhose, tight jeans or skirts cuz they'll rub up against the jewelry.

Use anti-bacterial hand soap to wash the pierced area in shower. That is the only thing I used...and I never got infected. Also, try to keep the pierced area DRY..meaning do not use something like Neosporin. You have to keep the pierced area dry in order for it to heal faster.

Yes, I believe that it is normal. I cleaned mine with sea salt and water 6 times a day. If it hurts or does not get better, you may want to go to the doc. Good Luck.

Call the person who did your piercing for you, have them check it and based on that, go to the doc or follow the piercers instructions. If you spike a fever, get the chills, feel nauseated, go to the emergency room IMMEDIATELY. The longer you wait, the worse you could get.
