How many months before having a breast augmentation do you have to quit smoking?

Smoking causes the blood vessels to constrict, reducing the blood supply and the oxygen carried by the blood to the surgical area. The tissues need this blood supply and the oxygen that the blood carries in order to heal. When the blood supply is reduced the tissues heal more slowly. Different doctors have different time frames for patients to refrain from smoking before and after surgery, but i stopped 6 weeks before.

As with an augmentation, it is very important that you prepare your body for the surgery by getting good sleep and nutrition in the week prior to your procedure. If you are a smoker, you should be at least be prepared not to smoke for at least three weeks prior to and after your breast augmentation surgery. Women taking any kind of immunosuppressive medications, have difficulty with healing, or have any current infections should delay or cancel their breast augmentation surgery until these matters can be resolved.

I would quit well before because when you are recovering if you smoke that will slow the healing process
