My dog just went through her first heat cycle and is now scheduled to get spayed at the end of the week. She hasn't been around any male dogs, but now I am worried that maybe something happened that I don't know about, because her nipples are puffy and swollen. Tell me this is natural, there is now way she is pregnant.

It's possible that she is going thru a false pregnancy... Are you 100% sure that she couldn't have been around any male dogs? If you are sure, then there is no way she is pregnant... You don't seem like you are sure.

If this is her first heat cycle, she is too young to produce a litter. Take her in and have her spayed as planned.

I'd like to tell you that there is no way that she is pregnant, but there is a possibility. Unless you have kept a super close eye on her and you are sure that she did not mate with a male dog, then there is a slight possibility. But she may not be, the swollen nipples may be a side effect of the first heat. Good luck.

The nipples and vulva swell when the dog is in heat. If you know for sure that she was not around any intact male dogs, heat is likely the reason.

i cant tell you she isnt pregnant, only she knows if she snuck out to see her boyfriend without you knowing. but if you are sure she hasnt been within reach of a male she cant be can she. the nipple swelling happens a lot with young females ive seen it several times. it has to do with her heat affecting her reproduction system. teenage and even adult women at times have swelling and tenderness along with their periods. just let your vet know when you take her in to be spayed.

If she hasn't been around male dogs, she cannot be pregnant.

They may be bothering her because of her going into heat. That does occur. If they are still swollen bring it to your vet's attention when you get her fixed

It is normal just after a heat. If she is getting sprayed then mention it to the vet when you bring her in if your worried.
