I have had both. The pug never would potty train i have heard pugs have difficulties with that. We gave him away to someone with more patients and less kids to take care of. Bostons are very very smart they pick things up pretty quick. They have tons of energy and I mean tons. We heard to cut out corn from his diet to help calm him down some. They say corn to Bostons is like sugar is to kids. It did help when we switched his food to no corn. They shed a little but no big deal. Ours is great with kids. Although not so with strangers. He won't bite but is aggressive. Ours isn't much of a barker inside barks outside but only for a reason like a person or another dog is in eye shot. They can't be outside for long periods of time if it is really cold or hot. They are inside dogs. Good luck hope you find the right puppy for your family.

I have a Fawn pug and a Black Pug Luv them!! My parents have a Boston Terrier, he is about the same size just taller, but my cousin has a little girl BT and she is very small. Great dogs too!! So I think to have the best of both breeds I would say go with a Boston Terrier. I hope this helps.

The boston terrier gets slightly bigger! It really depends on your living situation! The Bostons are more playful when the pugs are more of a cuddle bug! I have always wanted a black pug and I will have one someday but for now my 3 doggies are enough! Good luck and remember whatever you choose love it and take good care of it and it will return the favor!

OK, there isn't much in it but a Boston terrier is slightly bigger buy a couple of inches, and averages heavier by a couple of kilos.
Also consider a Griffon Bruxellois - basically they look just like pugs, but even smaller. I've met a couple of smooth-haired black ones, I thought they were stunted pugs til I discovered their breed, and they instantly became a favourite - gorgeous!

The boston terrier is bigger, a pug is kinda weird-looking but they are harmless and cute. They never grow so much.

A pug is good. Good luck

Boston terrier are my favorite breed of dog. They can be bigger then a pub, but not always.
Boston terriers are more playful, more intelligent, and sweeter then pugs.
Boston terrier rule!

I hate to say this but I like the Boston better myself only because their body type conforms better to being held and I like to pick a dog up every once and a while.Pugs are cobbier and not as holdable.
