Do we have any real effect on the eventual outcome of our lives or are we all cogs in a great cosmic clock, are our destiny's pre-scribed in the soul of all time, would someone else's life whom we have influenced still reach the same conclusion, coincidence or were we there for a reason, or are we no different from the birds and bees?

Really good question. My own opinion is this: I believe that certain events in our life are predestined to happen. Where we go from there, how we react, what we do next is our Choice. Reminds me of a spider web. One strand leads to a crossroad that was supposed to happen, but then it is our choice which strand to go on next, which will lead us to another crossroad and choice and so on.

Some greater things such as the universe and nations leaders doings may have an effect on your personal outcome. The environment where you live may have an influence on you as to what or who you will become. However, as there are world figures that you may have read changed the course of history then it is tantamount to believe that only you can determine your destiny. The Free Will given by God is useless if He already have a pre-destined kind of life you have to go through. With the Free Will, you are given the options to make choices on what you have to decide for yourself. Your success will depend on the right choice of the road you want to travel through your life's course. Your failure is not God's will but maybe you just did not make the right judgement on the choices available for you. Your fate is when you were born to a certain condition in life; your destiny is where you make a decision to get out or stay where you started. The reason for your being is the result of actions you make or did not make within the existing forces around you. It is either you go with the current or go against it.

Wow, great question. I hate to say it, but I am so agnostic on this issue it’s not even funny. I’d really like to know though. I’d like to think that we can choose our own destiny, but that has no weight on whether or not it’s true.

If it's destiny (as you have described), then the answer to the question really doesn't matter does it.
