This may sound silly, but its one of the only things that i find a turn off for my bf. He's very cute and tall and funny, but: He uses lots of exclamation marks in his texts and emails to me... he is kind of needy and is the one who is always expressing his love and affection toward me and Im the 'independant,' distant one, he always takes my head and stares at me in my eyes while smiling... says some un-manly things sometimes... ??! help, i love him, but its a turn off when he does/says some girly things sometimes. he's straight tho, right?

ps: in the past I have been much more attracted to guys who are tough, cool and collected, a little distant, not as affectionate... now w/ this guy totally affectionate and lovedovey, I feel like its weird or too girly.,, it's possible that maybe I'm just the one w/ the problem..?

Well, NO...according to the manly men standards, he's a homo. But why don't you try feeding him a hot dog...if he eats it from the middle, he's not gay, but if he eats it from the beginning, then RUN, girlfriend, RUN!!!! Also, there's the nail test (You know if he checks his nails by twisting his hand, and making a fist vs. stretching the arm and fingers and looking at them that way-gay).

I'm sorry that you love him and stuff but I would suggest getting out of there before it's too late. You'll find someone else...a real man...

it sounds to me that you have a really nice guy that is just comfortable expressing his feelings. I'm like this myself and well I have bneen married almost 8yrs now to a woman of course and well she sounds kind of like you. Sometimes it's the opposites attraction that makes a relationship strong.
You can also look at him that he is very meticulous and has always been good at grammer and spelling. So when he does this in texes etc. it is just something that he has done for a long time. He is straight he is just open to his emotions he likes to show you how you make him feel this is a good thing
it's when a guy bottles up his emotions and doesn't express feelings of any kind that you should be worried!

God Bless and just be more open to his affection all he wants is some more attention.

This is the problem we guys have. If we are not closed off and assholes, it's not attractive. A sad fact. Thats why affectionate men are few and far between. We give the ladies what they want and they don't like it. Just a sad fact.

Talk to him, see if you can get him to tone it down some. Let him know he's being over the top with the affection and see if he can throttle back a bit.

Your boyfriend just is a more sensitive guy. I don't think this makes him feminine. He was probably raised in a home where there was more female role models than male. In time he will find his own masculinity. Just as some girls are more masculine than feminine, not all guys are the same either. If you love him, then you must accept him as he is.

if he is dating a girl then he is straight for the moment. no matter what he does in his texts it doesnt change the fact that he is dating a girl and that doesnt even say that he is gay. he just seems to be the goofy romantic type and there is nothing that you can do to change it, thats the way that he is. if you dont like it then find someone that isnt "needy" and maybe there wont be any problems in your relationship. good luck! =]]]]

what a b*tch...have u thought that maybe ur the gay one? u r thinking hes too feminine, but i think u r just being too butch. be happy he shows his affection for u. uses a lot of exclamation marks? omg, call the gay police! lighten up and appreciate what u have. he might just want a girl that likes him for the way he is. it sounds like he is romantic and expressive, 2 great traits in a bf...just like mine! :)

Your boyfriend's behavior seems fine to me, he just expresses his emotions for you more freely than you probably do towards him. I think you are just embarrassed because he is too open about his feelings.
