Oxycontin is another form Morphine or oxycodone -re: the FDA. (I was told by my doctor Delaudid is the one that is chemically similar to Heroin.)
It is designed with buffers to release into your system over a 6 hour period. It is for use with those suffering from incredible pain due to illness or injury.
Even when used as directed it damages your liver, brain, colon, kidneys... you name it. Crushed it can - and often will cause death due to overdose.
This was never EVER meant as a recreational drug. You only have one life, hon - protect it.
If you are seeking greater pain relief, see a pain relief specialist. There are procedures that can help a variety of suffering. Your General Practitioner can provide you with a reference.
Peace hon. Stay safe.
It damages internal organs

Oxycontin tables are an apiod agonist they are controlled release oral formulation of oxycodone hydrochloride used for management of moderate to sever pain when a continuous around the clock analgesic is needed. If they are chewed, broken or crushed it can lead to rapid release and absorption of a potentially fatal dose.

It's not dangerous. Just the 'ingesting' crushed Oxycontin would be dangerous. Crushed pills are nothing to be afraid of. They don't rampage through the streets leaving a white drug-filled trail behind them, raping and pillaging (that's a pun, I'm sorry) little old ladies. Maybe they do and we just don't know it. Scary.

It is a legal form of heroin, not spelled right, so you can become addicted to it fast. Also easy to over dose I took it for about 6 months had a hard time getting off of it.
