Depends on what (CIS) office you're dealing with. My wife and I dealt with the San Francisco office and it took over 2 months. It might have taken longer if we hadn't gone there in person a couple of times to follow up. We needed it so she could go back home and plan our church wedding, she ended up leaving with 3 weeks to spare.
