i need help opening this program?

i downloaded this program called the 3d gamemaker & i cant open it it starts to work but then everything goes black & when i try to get out of the program the screen is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally dark help me plz

If your using XP, did you get the free patch, it says must be used for this program to run in XP?
