Did your vet do bloodwork on your dog? if not I would advice you to do so to make sure that her body functions are working properly. The bloodwork checks kidneys, liver, blood sugar, thyroid and her complete blood count. Until then, or if you already have done that, keep an eye on her gum color. Lift up her lip and look at the area just above her teeth. If they are nice and pink she is getting enough oxygen, if they are purple or blue you need to get your dog to the vet quickly. Most dogs will be panting if the gums are blue...some may even seem like they are gasping, because they arent getting oxygen to the brain. also press on the gums lightly....take your finger away and count the seconds it takes for the color to come back to normal....if it takes less than 3 seconds for the color to return she should be ok....any longer than 3 seconds there is cause for concern. also, if you notice her belly gets larger like she swallowed a basketball but she isnt eating she could have or potentially get a hemoabdomen....it means blood in the abdomen. if your want your vet can take an x-ray or you can get an ultrasound to make sure your dog doesnt have a growth on her liver or spleen or any organ in her abdomen. if her bloodwork comes back normal and all other signs arent apparent she could just be getting old. Goodluck and call your vet to talk about these tests and other strategies for making her more comfortable...

First of all - were you feeding her the pet food brand that was recalled? That could be one problem. Second, when animals start acting really strange they are either in heat or dying. I would give her 3 days on the antibiotic and if she doesn't get better or start showing signs of being her old self, I would take her to the vet again. Most dogs don't live longer than 9 years so consider yourself lucky and love her as much as you can!!!

It means you need to call your vet back TODAY and explain what is going on with your dog. Perhaps some blood work is in order since the antibiotic doesn't seem to have kicked in.

Obviously there is something wrong if they put her on amoxicillian. Find another vet. Could she be depressed from something? 10 is old, but not THAT old. It could be many different things the way she is behaving. Good Luck!

I am not a vet but it honestly doesnt sound very good. Try and encourage her to drink water to keep herself hydrated and try hand feeding her, some dogs when they dont feel well prefer this. I wish you luck with her!!!!!!
