I kinda like Vista. It does have it's issues and it is sometimes difficult to find things that aren't where they were in XP. However, it does have a lot of cool new features.
Probably my favorite right now is that it looks up printers for you on a network and tells you what they are and you can pick which one you want ..... rather than go to the printer and figure out the IP or name and then add (or try adding) it. I like this because I have a laptop and go between several sites and home and have to add printers often.
It's all comparable though. Someone used to XP now, probably had a difficult time moving from 2000 or 98 to XP, but now XP is the standard. If your techy enough or have been through a few iterations of the Windows upgrades, it's a typical changeover.
All in all, I like Vista and plan to use the Ultimate version for a long time now. I have it both on my work laptop and my home computer. I have had a few issues, but nothing that has stopped my from doing anthing I was doing on XP. Any bugs, if not worked out, will be worked out soon.

A whole lotta hype for a whole lotta nothin'. It's what you'd call bloatware. Requires a boat load of memory and processor speed just to boot up! A lot of people's hardware doesn't even have drivers compatible with Vista yet. Some defunct manufacturers will never be able to release updated drivers. The same could probably be said for software. Personally, I still haven't found a compelling reason to "upgrade" from Windows 2000 to XP! Between Linux and 2K, I do just fine...

I think Windows ME was better...
MS rushed to the street with this product and did a very poor job of QA. MOre people have reported more problems w/ hardware NOT pre-installed w/ Vista then any other OS. If you have a stable XP computer stick w/ it....if you're looking for new..go Mac or Linux.

Haven't used it and don't plan on upgrading. I perfectly happy with XP. I'll get Vista when it's time to get a new computer in a few or so years.

Vista is great - if you are a computer scientist, which I am. I don't recommend it right now for the faint of heart. If you aren't totally technical, don't go there. Too many roadblocks for the uninitiated.
