The "EARTH DIVIDING", This is scientific proof that the bible speaks the truth. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aso/tryit/tectonics/intro.html

Only it didn't happen millions of years ago, but only like 4000 years ago.

Genesis Chapter 11:1; The whole world spoke the same language, using the same words.

Genesis Chapter 11:9; That is why it was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the speech of all the world. It was from that place that he scattered them all over the earth

After the dispersion at Babel, as mankind journeyed from Shinar, they each went to various locations across "Pangaea" all earth. When all
tribes were in their destined place, God then slowly divided the massive landmass into the continents we have today. The earthquake (which began the continental breakup) was such a significant event that a man named his own son after it.

We read in Genesis 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was "the earth divided"

This also explains how humans and animals are all divided across the entire planet althought the continents are very distant from each but once they where all together.

Well, no.

The scientific studies dont say it happened 4000 years ago.
It says they happened 225 million years ago.

Which is a pretty big rock in the way of your road there my friend.

Besides the bible doesn't say the earth was created 6000 years ago.

If you were to go by "A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years a day to the Lord", then it was closer to 11,500 years ago.

But we have to ignore even that argument because the expression has a simple meaning that is metaphorical, not literal. And it means "Time has no meaning to the Lord".

It makes a significant amount of sense to take this point of view, when it AGREES with the scientific data.
And so does the order of the creation of the earth and animals and plants in Genesis 1 agree with the theory of evolution.

Both Scientists and Creationists keep themselves ignorant of that fact.

Your verses are far more likely to be refering to the ending of the last Ice Age, whereby the melting of ice and the retreating of glaciers destroyed the land bridges that existed between the continents and would have caused a much more humid atmosphere around the globe that called for the 40 days and nights of rain for the flood of noah.

Its contents are scientifically sound on matters that human researchers discovered only at a later date.

1. Origin of the Universe: Gen. 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” In 1978, astronomer Robert Jastrow wrote: “Now we see how the astronomical evidence leads to a biblical view of the origin of the world. The details differ, but the essential elements in the astronomical and biblical accounts of Genesis are the same: the chain of events leading to man commenced suddenly and sharply at a definite moment in time, in a flash of light and energy.”—God and the Astronomers (New York, 1978), p. 14.

2. Shape of Planet Earth: Isa. 40:22: “There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth.” In ancient times the general opinion was that the earth was flat. It was not until over 200 years after this Bible text had been written that a school of Greek philosophers reasoned that the earth likely was spherical, and in about another 300 years a Greek astronomer calculated the approximate radius of the earth. But the idea of a spherical earth was not the general view even then. Only in the 20th century has it been possible for humans to travel by airplane, and later into outer space and even to the moon, thus giving them a clear view of “the circle” of earth’s horizon.

3. Animal Life: Lev. 11:6: “The hare . . . is a chewer of the cud.” Though this was long attacked by some critics, the rabbit’s cud chewing was finally observed by Englishman William Cowper in the 18th century. The unusual way in which it is done was described in 1940 in Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, Vol. 110, Series A, pp. 159-163.

In conclusion, the Bible's internal harmony is significant. This is especially so in view of the fact that the books of the Bible were recorded by some 40 men as diverse as king, prophet, herdsman, tax collector, and physician. They did the writing over a period of 1,610 years; so there was no opportunity for collusion. Yet their writings agree, even in the smallest detail. To appreciate the extent to which the various portions of the Bible are harmoniously intertwined, you must read and study it personally.

So what evidence do you have that it didn't occur over the course of billions of years, but only 4000 years?

There is a wide range of geological, chemical and radiometric data that indicates the billions of years given by geologists, what source do you have for the assertion of 4000 years?

We have evidence of different languages (Cuneiform, Phoenician, Egyptian hieroglyphs) older than 4000 years, so was this before or after Babel?

And was the Great Flood before or after Babel? If the Babel thingie was first, then wouldn't have all of Noah's descendants spoke whatever language Noah spoke, and thus the whole Babel leading to different languages thingie would be nullified?

And if God separated the continents after each group of man was in their destined place, doesn't that mean that North Americans of European descent are contravening God's will by living in North America? Shouldn't we give North America, South America and Australia back to the First Nations peoples of those regions since they are the God ordained 'destined' people of those lands?

Your alleged 'scientific' proof of your Bible creates a lot more questions than it answers.

Oh dear. Probably the least open minded person I've replied to. Since when was the bible proof, let alone evidence (at which point I'd like to point out that we can prove nothing other than maths or logic as everything else is based on evidence by inductive reasoning)? If I wrote a book saying that everyone once lived on the moon and a giant elephant threw them at earth, you would say it's stupid for people in 2-3000 years time to believe it. However you are believing a book written many thousands of years ago. For a theory like this to be believed you must undergo the process of falsification. By doing this you ask as many questions as possible of the theory, and the theory is changed until it can answer all relevent questions or it is discarded. The bible is not falsified. Science is. Therefore it is logical to listen to science, not a book written thousands of years ago by someone who had much less knowledge of science and the universe than we do today.

However being someone who believes this you will not like someone arguing so strongly against you so you're not going to pick me for best answer. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Sorry, but I'm going to take the word of the tens of thousands of scientists all over the world who accept that the earth is millions of years old over the word of some fundamentalist Christians who treat a book written by uneducated men 2000 years ago (who knew nothing of science) as scientific and historical evidence, and then try to use the book itself as evidence that the book is correct.

You dont seriously beleive that do you?.Religion is just a clever invention by the people at the top ( prob the alien race who genetically engineered us to serve them )as a method of keeping the masses under control through fear and manipulation. There is not one scientific fact anywhere to support your statement. Theres loads more scientific evidence to support the theory that god or the supreme beings were in fact aliens that came from the heavens etc but you stick with your bible mate as you clearly arent ready for the truth!

LOL ..... I can appreciate your rather vivid imagination and blind faith but what you've put forth here offers no proof that the bible was inspired by god or any proof that god is anything more than a myth created by man. You treat the bible as a history book, science book, fortune telling book all wrapped into one. It is merely a book of parables no different than the ancient stories of Greek and Roman mythology.

No. Science shows that "earth division" as you call it, occurred MILLIONS of years ago, whereas the bible seems to say that the earth is only 6,000 years old, and it proved that for such a process to take place, needs millions of years.

there is archaeological info that some places interior the Bible existed, genuine. This, besides the fact that, is comparable to asserting that Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes existed because of fact there is archaeological info of London. there is somewhat little info of any particular activities interior the Bible, and lots against (e.g., cities meant to have been conquered with the help of Joshua did no longer exist on the time, etc.). Bible prophecies are imprecise adequate that they are in a position to be fulfilled numerous situations, and nonetheless be claimed as "evidence" of different issues. there is no longer something particular. and a great number of non-medical info as properly. There at the instant are not any good non-Biblical account of Jesus. human beings will die for issues they suspect are genuine, in spite of in the event that they are not. human beings have been prepared to die for Jim Jones, David Koresh, and a goodly sort of different lunatics. Koresh, specially, claimed he grew to become into the return of Christ. If human beings have been prepared to die for him, does that propose he grew to become into precise? The few places the place the hot testomony might desire to be matched to historic activities, it has failed miserably (e.g., delivery dates for Jesus ten years aside, Nazareth did no longer even exist on the time, no record of a bloodbath or the launch of prisoners on the Passover, etc. etc. etc.) Given an unlikely journey such because of fact the spontaneous resurrection and assumption into heaven of a guy or woman, the simplest assumption isn't that the resurrection and assumption exceeded off, yet that somebody made up a tale, stole a physique, etc. Occamk's razor says the main possibly tale is genuine, no longer the least possibly. If this assumption have been to be stunning, then each lacking guy or woman might desire to be stated to have died, resurrected, and been assumed actual into heaven. hey, there is not any evidence it did no longer take place, so it is going to be genuine, precise? Your very final assertion is in keeping with huge "if", and around logic. plenty extra possibly he purely believed he grew to become into the Son of God. there are a number of human beings on the streets of manhattan right this moment who have faith that - in case you do no longer have faith them, why have faith in a Judean anarcho-communist hippie?
