well you wouldn't get gout just after drinking. if you have painful joints normally, but they hurt even more after alcohol its because alcohol is thought to reduce uric acid excretion (which causes gout).
the main thing is to drink plenty of water and if the symptoms persist then see your doctor.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

Joints are affect by uric acid to cause gout. It is most usual in the joint of the big toe,.The increased acidity caused by your alcohol intake can certainly play a part in joint pain.A doctor is the only person who can make a more definite diagnosis and you most probably be told to cut your drinking right back.

It could be. Especially if you drink red wine, brandy or fortified wines, or some beers. Some alcoholic drinks and foods contain a substance which some people can't metabolise and which crystalises where it accumulates in serum. It can cause pain in joints, or migraines.

If it is gout then your GP can confirm it and it is easily treatable. Either avoid the foods which contain it or take one small pill a day.

No, gout wouldn't just happen after drinking. Gout usually affects the foot first, normally the big toe. It is extremely painful. It can affect other joints, but the big toe is usually first.

It's because you get dehydrated, and therefore less fluid in your body, hence less 'lubrication' (couldn't think of a better word sorry) round the joints.

As for falling, yeah that would make them hurt, but then you would have bruises and so you wouldn't be wondering why they are aching!
