Basic training for the Army (back in '97 when I went anyway) was 8 weeks. To train for the job you'll have, well that depends on what job that is. I was a 31P Microwave Systems Op./Maint. and the Advanced Individual Training for that job was 6 months. Other jobs can be a lot shorter or a lot longer. I know jobs in the Signal Corps were typically 4+ months.
After AIT, when you get to permanent party, you do continue to do training exercises. These are meant to keep things fresh in your mind; imagine if you forgot how to put on your MOPP gear at the wrong moment, or something similar. You will continue to go to the range, go to the gas chambers, etc etc throughout your career.

In 1988, Marine Corps boot camp was 13 weeks. I think it's still pretty similar. In the early 90's, Navy basic training was 8 weeks. I don't know about the Army or Air Force. I know this information is pretty dated but I hope it helps.

No, that isn't any longer actual. They get incredibly an same volume of educating. the version is they concentration on countless issues. The Marines are amphibious by technique of nature, at the same time as the military isn't. they're different. the military does, besides the fact which have that is Airborne instruments mutually with the 82nd and the 173rd. So surely, in case you opt for to enlist as infantry, then %. what you may quite do. Airborne? the military. Water? Marine Corps.

if yuo mean basic training.....i know that AF is 6 weeks and is the shortest.....i think marines are 12 and army and navy are somewhere around 9. of course then you have your MOS training (training to do your job) that can be 6 weeks to a year. and once you get assigned you are constantly in some sort of training, my husband has been in 10 years and still getting trained.

it all depends on what "path" you are taking in your military career.
As a "Combat Data Systems Technician" for the navy, my first 2 years was all training of some sort. then after that I still went to three other scholls that ranged from 6 weeks to 16 weeks in length.
The military is really big on ensuring that people get the training they need but, you have to be able to GET IT. If you can't keep up, take notes. If you can't take notes, keep up.
