It's rather embarassing in front of the family. I didn't think he would mature until six months, but he is only 10 weeks.

My vet said that it isn't sexual behavior at this age but instead
a dominance thing. They are trying to establish where they are in the pecking order. If they try to do it on your leg she said to just stand up they will fall and stand over them but toys she said not to worry about also after they are nurtured that should end. If he does it just explain to your family its only dominance and give the dog something or something to do to take his mind off of it. Or move the item into the other room. The are also going through hormone changes that can cause frustration.

It's completly normal for young male pups [and females] to be mounting different objects. It's part of the learning of a young pup,but obviously you want to nip it in the bud esp if theres young children around.Every time he does this tell him no loudly and firmly and if possible remove him from the room for 5-10mins,try not to play rough boistrous games with him as this makes dogs more excited.I would advice you get him spayed around 6months as this habit continues through out life and as you know its very embarrising.Good luck.

He doesn't perceive it like you do. He's a puppy.

And like any growing mammal, there are hormonal changes taking place; some dogs are more prone to it than others. If you get him neutered, that will cease for the most part. Adult dogs do it as a form of asserting control.

there is nothing to be embarrassed about. its all part of nature and growing up. there 'animal' instincts are high and they are just going through the motions. you could try to put him off certain objects using sprays but he should stop soon. anyway i had a similar problem when my 7 month b1tch tried it on with my nephew when he was lying infront of the tv.

Puppies, whether male or female will begin this at about 21 days. its perfectly normal. don't make a big deal out of it.it isn't hormone related at this age.

Animals just seem to do what comes naturally when they are both young and old.

Pretty soon he will be in love with your leg!
