I cannot download the software for a logitech fusion web cam.Turning off all other protection dos,nt help.Can I close the firewall ????

It depends..... Your antivirus would not prevent you from downloading a file... I doubt your firewall would have anything to do with it either. It's probably the security settings in your internet explorer. If you click Tools>internet options> Click the security Tab> Custom Level> Scroll Down to File Download and make sure it is checked as enable. If it is an update for your current webcam software... Then it may be your firewall. You can turn it off, do the update, then turn it back on

Download Windows LiveOneCare it's free for 90 days and it takes care of everything. It will uninstall any other protection you have, or instruct you to do so. It's safe after all it's Microsoft. it will inform you as you go. I am using it for some time now and it is very good. You can uninstall it at any time with no problems and re install whatever you have at the moment.

If you have another firewall in place yes - otherwise I would just set the site as an exception.

no its not safe to turn anti-virus off because the one you get automaticlly get with the computer doesnt work
i decided to download it because i kept getting viruses
now, every time my computer gets a virus, Anti-virus finds it and asks you if you want to delete it
once it found a trogan and it could have destroyed my computer but lucky for me i had Anti-virus

If you have another anti-virus program in place then yes it is, u my have to go on to ur anti-virus and allow it to run

maybe you should be asking is it safe to run it in the first place lol. but seriously have you tried zonealarms firewall and avg anitivirus? they both pretty good and free :)
