I have scoliosis, and squats are not bad for you (too bad, though). Just remember to excercise in moderation and don't lift excessive weights or do anything too jarring. And for some reason, the doctors always told me toe touches were good for me.

yes..i'll have to agree with kimberly...
squat is a bad exercise to begin with whether you have scoliosis or not.
it wouldn't make scoliosis worse however.
but like it was mentioned above, squat is very strenuous to knee structures and could lead to early degeneration or cartiliages breaking down.

No. I have extreme scoliosis (had a brace and everything) and I've never been told to avoid any particular exercises.

A word of advice - if the Dr gave you specific execises to do to keep your back from getting worse, DO them. They work, and can save you alot of grief.

I don't know if it is bad for Scoliosis but my husbands Phy. Thep. says they are bad in general. He says that he sees lots of injury to the knees from them & that if you feel you must do them, don't add extra weights. Hopes thios helps a little...
