I don't want to cast any stones.
I just want to be left alone.

It means that they made a choice, a choice not to believe in sin. As for us Christians, (ones who are saved) still need to be an example to Non-Christians,or whoever, by living what scripture states, and what the Holy Spirit stirs our hearts with. Think about the people who Jesus inspired,touched, healed, when he was on earth, he led the perfect example how he wants us to be and live. He didn't go straight to the saints, he went to the ones who were lost, the sinners, just like you and me.

True, I don't believe in sin. But neither do I agree with the biblical punishment for it. Non-violence is generally a better option if possible.

That's a falsehood right there. It equates atheists, agnostics, deists and others with a lack of morals, which is both insulting and false. Just because you don't believe in the Christian religion doesn't mean you don't believe in being a good person.

Isn't it funny how in the NT when Jesus said this, that he was actually sinning?
The Mosaic law was required to be followed by ALL Jews, including Jesus. When he refused to stone the adulteress (and urged others not to do it), he was breaking the Mosaic law. He was therefore sinning.
So much for the perfect, sinless son of god. eh?
(BTW, I am not suggesting that an adulteress should be stoned, I am actually quite fond of them.)

It is not a sin because you don't know yet if you were a

Just because I may not believe in sin, does not meant I judge others.

Sin=immorality.

Non-Christians know what is and isn't immoral.

The problem is, many Christians get confused.

does the verse say "let those who think they are without sin cast the first stone"? No it doesn't. It says those who are without sin.

LOL...no, I just don't care. Though it's always nice to know that a book I don't "believe in" gives me implicit warrant to participate in a stoning.

"God is smarter than you and He says there is sin." Sigh. OK, somebody has to die for that.
