This is simple ... I live a very fast paced life meeting new people all the time and that still happens to me from time to time. What I have discoverd is that it can easly be broken by just the most random of things. Examples...what happened to you this week or her the trip to see each other comments about her or yoruself interest hobbies likes dislikes. But by far for me is to loose it up by addressing the dead silence befriend it and mold it to what ever you desire. Well that may be a little too much for beginners but when you can master it like that ... Look out cause the world will be you'rs for the taken.

K, IMHO, make a stupid remark about the weather or something.
Kill it before it gets too awkward.
It can be cute if someone is trying to fill silence =] seriously though, don't let it get too drawn-out and painful.
