First of all, if anyone in a "shop" pierces you at the age of 16 without parental consent is doing it illegally and shouldn't be trusted!

Secondly, what happens when your new piercing becomes infected and starts looking nasty and you need antibiotics to heal? Be kinda hard to keep that from Mum!

Third, you can get magnetic or clip on belly rings. Get the look without the risk until you are old enough to legally have it done by a professional.

NO! If you do that, that can cause an infection. Plus, it's unappealing to the opposite sex at times. I knew this kid that got his nose pierced and he couldn't sneeze without pain. He didn't go to the doctor for if he did, his dad would find out. Same for the belly button. Just don't do it. Just don't. Your mom knows best and doesn't want you in any unnecessary pain. I am absolutely positive that you will look hot without the piercing. It's frivolous really. YOu should try getting your ears pierced instead. Oh and PS: Parents ALWAYS find out, it's like some kid radar or something!

No, my mom's a doctor and they have had so many girls come in who have went behind their parent's back and gotten their belly button pierced and it got infected but they didn't want their parents to know and the infection got worse. And any ways you know your mom will find out one way or another

i wouldn't reccomment it. lots of places won't let you get it done without your parents consent to begin with. maybe talk to you mom and see what reasons she has against you getting it done. tell her how much you want it done and give her good reasons (not just because everyone is getting it done!)
if you do get it done wait until winter- you can't swim for a while after you get it done or it will become infected!

if you really really really REAAAAAAAAAALLLL YYYYYY want it. like you dont care about the risks. then fine. go ahead.
but getting it done could lead to a really bad infection, and then you would definitely have to tell your mum about the infection, and she would feel awful. It's a bit harsh on her really. how old are you ? if you love her lots you can wait a bit. if not. go ahead. i've got one. and their not that great.

Try to convince your mom. Never do it behind her back since she'll find out anyway.

Never do anything behind your mum's back. Mum's know best. What if it get's infected? Who will take you to the doctor/ Who will pay the bill? Wat until you have the ability to handle all aspects of such a decision.
Cheers!

To prevent your mother for 'having a cow', I'd wait a little bit longer before getting this done. I used to work with someone who had theirs done and it kept getting infected and irritated. Please look at the risks before you make your final decision.

The very best way to destroy a relationship with ANYBODY is to deal with them in a deceitful way. That goes for parents, friends, co-workers, etc.
