Those who say 141 are correct.
It is not true as stated by one answerer above that anybody with a phone with "Caller ID" can tell the number calling if you have witheld your number by prefixing it with 141. They can not!
Only BT themselves and the Police can find out your number if you have prefixed called number with 141. But they will only ascertain it investigating a possible crime. But be warned it "will" be deemed a crime investigation if somebody complains of "nuisance calls" or harassment coming into their phone.from a "witheld number", or for hoax calls to the Emergency Services. Otherwise if you prefix 141 your number will never be disclosed to people you call.

Ignore the replies stating '141'.
Many U.K. phones now come with Caller ID facility, so your number will easily show up on their screen whether you press 141 or not!
Use a public phone box, it's safer!

141 to block your number for 1 call. You can permanently block you number also - contact your service provider to arrange.
1470 to release your number for 1 call if already blocked.

141 but if ur phone withholds automatic but u want ppl 2 c u called dail 1470. this takes off the withheld thats on automatic.
