I have 3 kids - 4 years, 2.5 and 1 year. We have been on holiday most years. You just have to taylor your expectations weve done France camping (britainy) it was great and ibiza last year in a relative's villa ...... hard work but OK. Just realise its not gonna be the complete rest like days of old. work out what you like what you dont and sour the web for reveiws - centre parks do a good european option.
WHY June your not going to be able to take advantage ofcheaper holidays when the kids are not at school now is the time to get those value deals.

PS Im from Cornwall and it is great but your pound goes further abroad

Young children don't understand the concept of a holiday, they still need their routine and to go to bed at their normal time etc. So I wouldn't spend a fortune going anywhere too fancy, also remember that you have to still do all the usual things in looking after her so your holiday won't be like one with older children or no children at all. It depends on where you are in the country or if you want to spend ages driving somewhere. A seaside not too far from home with clean beaches, parks and nice swimming pools (if she likes the water) are the best bet. Most seaside places will cater for families - as in have child friendly places to eat.

I agree with the others Cornwall is lovely and very family orientated. Somewhere else to try as well is the Isle of Wight, thats a really nice place too, theres lots of places to stay and lots to do.
Hopefully we are taking my daughter on her first holiday trip too, so we are thinking of going to Isle of Wight.
Maybe Disneyland when shes abit older and she'll understand it more then.
Happy holidays.

A beach is ideal.....but don't make the mistake we did of staying too far from shops and things. Every time we ran out of something we had to take a trip in the car...what a pain!

I agree - when my little boy was one we went to Looe in Cornwall for the best holiday ever - rock pools, sand, pasties - and we stayed in a caravan too. He loved it and can still remember putting winkles in his mouth and paddling every day

Everyone is different i think abroad will be fine(short haul),but if your not sure i would speak to a travel agent and tell them exactly what kind of holiday you all want as a family.
Good luck.
